Celebrity Actor Visits Mom Tri’s Boathouse, Phuket
Thai cinema’s top leading man Ananda Everingham enjoyed some well deserved R&R recently at his favourite hotel in Phuket, Mom Tri’s Boathouse.
Phuket, Thailand, May 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Well-known for the fantastic location directly on Kata Beach, excellent food and one of the best wine cellars in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Boathouse is like a second home for the handsome young actor.
Ananda enthuses “I’ve been coming to the Boathouse for over 15 years and it feels like home to me. It’s the first place I think of going to whenever I’m landing in Phuket. I always want to touch base, have a glass of wine and sit in my favourite spot next to the beach. Many of the staff have known me for a long time as I used to come together with my dad (National Geographic photographer, publisher and entrepreneur John Everingham) while growing up. We’d sit and talk for hours, ordering our favorite dishes such as Mussels Phang Nga and Geng Kieaw Wan Gai (Green curry chicken).”
About to start filming in the south of Thailand in a few days, Ananda says “This is my first holiday in the past five years. I’ve told my family several times I’d take time off work but it had simply never happened.” Ananda has just wrapped up filming two movies Eternity and Red Eagle. Eagerly anticipated by his many fans, Red Eagle will see Ananda stepping into the role made famous by legendary action hero Mitr Chaibancha for a remake of the popular 1960s action movie series.
Appearing in numerous movies since his debut in 1998 Ananda won the Best Actor award by the Thailand National Film Association for his role in Happy Birthday a drama movie by PhongPat Wachirabanjong.
Ananda is also co-designer of CPS Chaps a jeans line that is he says “inspired by Rock & Roll of the 70’s, James Dean and very close to what I like to wear myself.”
And what’s the famous movie star planning for the next couple of days? “A nice glass of wine, something to eat and then I’ll go from there,” grins Ananda. "It will be nice to relax here on the beach and do nothing for a few days.”
