Workshops, Shopping, and More at the San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair

The event for new and expecting parents in San Francisco Bay Area. SF Birth and Baby Fair showcases local businesses and resources as well as independent designers with the aim to educate and expose parents to unique, beneficial products & services.

San Francisco, CA, May 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Join the San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair (SFBBF), presented by Destination Maternity, at the Fort Mason Center's Herbst Pavilion for a day of workshops, shopping, and spa treatments. The SFBBF takes place on Sunday, June 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. New and expecting parents can choose from a wealth of resources available at the fair.

There will be children's clothing, photographers, toys, books, and more. Exhibitors include, Whippersnappers Studio where professional photographers capture priceless memories, Lullaby Lane, and Japanese Weekend. Expecting mothers can shop for maternity wear from A Pea in the Pod, Maternity Xchange, and Mountain Mama, the first store to offer technical outdoor gear for pregnant women. Giggle and other local designers and companies will be there with all the baby gear parents need like clothing, bottles, bibs, bedding, and toys.

Parents can get their questions answered about vaccines during the Vaccine/Q&A workshop presented by Dr. Julia Getzman, from GetzWell Pediatrics. For the eco-friendly, a hands-on demonstration of cloth diapering teaches techniques, what supplies are needed, tips and tricks. The Going Green with Baby workshop covers areas such as green baby feeding, diapering, skincare and nursery design. Parents will discover unique ways to promote and protect their baby’s health, home and environment. Expecting parents should plan on attending Sleep Techniques for an informative workshop to help lead to well-rested parents and babies alike.

In addition to the workshops, there are several special areas for both parents and children. The whole family can take a picture at the SFBBF photo booth sponsored by Lori Paladino Photography. Little ones will enjoy toys and books in the Peekadoodle Kids Club Play Area. Mothers can nurse and change babies in the Natural Resources Nursing Area. Parents who need a quick break can relax at the Earth and Sky Oasis Rejuvination Station or the Spoil and Pamper Spa Lounge where they can choose from mini-makeovers, chair massages, and manicures. For those who plan to stay the whole day, Fine Foods refreshment bar will have organic foods available for purchase.

The San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair is one of the premiere events for everything baby. Admission to the SFBBF is $5 or two for $8. Children are free. Free passes can be found at select A Pea in the Pod Stores and Whippersnapper Studio locations. The SFBBF is sponsoring a campaign to support local schools. Organizations will receive ticket vouchers to distribute and for each ticket voucher that is redeemed, 100% of the admission price is returned to the organization.
