Sacred Cow Hunters Loose in Asia
Singapore, Singapore, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Sacred Cow Hunters are on the loose in Asia. Today the founding partners of Sacred Cow Company, Mr. Geoff Smith and Mr. Stephen Quesnelle unveiled the latest edition of their book “In The Company of Sacred Cows” at the HR SUMMIT in Singapore.

Smith and Quesnelle describe “sacred cows” as the entrenched processes and policies that prevent organizations from meeting lean times head on and from getting competitive again. In The Company of Sacred Cows tells the story of Canadian based telecom producer Mitel Corporation’s struggle to survive during an economic downturn – and its dramatic turnaround, led by Smith and Quesnelle. Together they worked to help the company emerge both competitive and 40 times more profitable.

When asked about the new edition of the book, co-author Stephen Quesnelle noted that they wanted to include an overview of their PRESTO© model of organizational change to further help readers employ the change methodology used by Sacred Cow Company. Geoff Smith said that they chose the HR SUMMIT in Singapore to unveil their new research on human behaviour as a commitment by Sacred Cow Company to bring their message to a global audience.

“We are seeing the productivity rates of labour dropping in various countries around the world,” said Smith. “For example this is one thing that Singapore and Canada share in common.” Stephen Quesnelle added, “The methodology that we use engages people in change – we help organizations make successful change WITH their employees and not AT them. We believe that asking employees to simply work harder or longer is neither ethical nor sustainable. Successful change, and higher productivity, can be achieved by the six elements of PRESTO© which helps organizations identify roadblocks to success and motivates employees to do the right things that matter. It is a win/win for all.”

From the financial sector to the heavy trades industry, this book is a must read because it doesn’t matter what business you are in, the one thing that all organizations have in common is people. “People don’t resist change – they resist being changed. Without employees engaged in the change effort, the sacred cows will live on and eventually trample any gains that you make,” says co-author and change specialist Quesnelle.
