North East Care Company Gets Go-Ahead from Regulator

Cramlington, United Kingdom, May 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A local community care company has taken the first step in its programme to establish an innovative and quality service across the UK by this week receiving regulatory approval for its North East hub in Cramlington, Northumberland. Ladybird Care, which provides care to help elderly and disabled people stay as independent as possible in their own homes, has been approved for business in the North East by the Care Quality Commission.

Care Manager Shirley Mills welcomed the approval, stating: “We have been recruiting and training staff for a few months now, so we’re delighted to be able to deliver our first class service to local people and really be in the heart of communities across the North East. We can also expand our recruitment activity.”

The company will be opening local support offices and training hubs across the region in the coming months as it pursues its expansion plans and plans to hire an additional 100 care workers over the next two years. Ladybird Care intends to deliver unrivalled care in the community throughout the North East of England, as a platform for a nationwide rollout.

On why Ladybird Care has chosen the North East as the location for its first branch, Managing Director Steve Secrette said: “We have received great support in the North East, from Business Link and the North East England Investment Centre to local authorities who are keen to work in partnership with the private sector to innovate and improve in the services they organise.”

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. It regulates care provided by the NHS, local authorities, private companies and voluntary organisations.
