Sydney, Australia, May 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- There is no Australian Standard for baby carriers, however the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued guidelines for safe babywearing - which the Manduca Baby Carrier ticks all the boxes for.
They are:
- The baby should be close enough to kiss.
- The baby should never have his/her chin resting on his/her chest.
- The baby’s head should always be above the rest of his/her body.
- The baby’s knees should always be higher than his/her bottom. The baby’s face should Never be covered by fabric.
- The baby’s head should be supported.
A baby carrier new to Australia ticks all the boxes for safe baby wearing. Manduca Baby Carriers are now available in Australia.
The carriers ensure the baby sits in the orthopaedically recommended position to help their hips mature as nature intended… imagine a capital “M” – where the bottom is lower than the legs.
This broad sitting base mimics the unstructed nature of a sling, whilst supporting the thighs. This correct carrying position is suitable for babies weighing 3.5 kg up to 20 kg.
To ensure the wearer has minimal discomfort, the Manduca baby carrier’s straps are padded and there is a wide, padded hip belt – most of the weight is in fact, carried on the hips.
Front, back or side carrying positions are fine, it’s up to the individual and their preference.
Manduca baby carriers come in red, chocolate or black. RRP $159.00
