Nashville rockers part ways with Drummer, step up to help their City.

Nashville, TN, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Music City's own, Mellow Down Easy will be playing a special hometown benefit for victims of the recent Nashville flood. The show will take place at Mercy Lounge/Cannery Ballroom on May 19 with special guests Static Revial and Fools For Rowan.

The group have been on a North American tour since January. They were already scheduled to play a show at Mercy Lounge May 19 as part of the Nashville stop of the tour. Shortly after the floods ravaged their hometown, the band did not hesitate to shift directions and turn the show into a benefit concert. All proceeds will go towards local charity Hands On Nashville.

In other related news - the band has officially announced that they will be parting ways with longtime drummer, band co-founder Rodney Russell. According to the band the decision is amicable although no specific reason has been given for the split. Guitarist Andrew Adkins and bassist Daryl Dasher plan to carry on with drummer, Sam Huff. Huff, a Virginia native, has been filling in for Russell at recent shows. Russell's last show with the band will be in Lexington, KY next month.
