Long-Term Compliant Archiving Solution at Sapphire Now

Freiburg, Germany, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- At the SAP customer conference Sapphire Now from 16 to 19 May in Orlando, Florida, and at the same time in Frankfurt, Germany, iTernity GmbH and HP are presenting the HP / iCAS archiving middleware. At HP's booth (2501 in the Orange County Convention Center) anybody interested can obtain information on the most cost-effective partner solution for editing-protected long-term archiving. Users benefit, in particular, from the connection to the HP storage portfolio. Already existing hardware can be used efficiently, as iCAS fits seamlessly into every storage structure. Migration to new technologies or external media is also possible at any time without any loss of data integrity. In the long run, users save additional costs, as no new licenses are necessary when replacing hardware. Another benefit of the solution is that it has interfaces to Opentext’s IXOS and other DMS and ECM systems, meaning that SAP files can be smoothly directed to the archive. HP / iCAS archives data with the patented and certified Content Storage Container technology (CSC) and can compress and encrypt them to the optimum. A spatial separation of the data stocks, for instance by departments, subsidiaries or customers, is also possible. The legally prescribed storage terms can be flexibly managed and precisely met for every container. Users therefore have a compliance-fit archive infrastructure at their disposal. It can also be operated in an entirely virtual manner, and thus offers additional benefits such as high reliability, stability and disaster recovery.

KGS GmbH will also present the HP iCAS Content Server by KGS solution at the event. It was specially designed for the needs of SAP archiving and can be integrated seamlessly. Users benefit from the user-friendliness, as they do not need to leave their familiar application environment. Documents are displayed in the SAP document viewer. Also, both the HP memory portfolio and already existing storage solutions can be used. As the HP iCAS Content Server by KGS runs on any operating system and can be operated on every system platform, users save additional costs. The solution is thus characterized by the greatest possible flexibility and the data are archived for the long-term and with editing protection. In addition, the archive can also be virtualized.

In the SAP environment, the recent certification of iCAS by ECM manufacturer Opentext will also attract attention, as only very few archive solutions have such a certification. Many SAP users use the IXOS ECM system by Opentext for the archiving of their SAP data and can now also benefit from the advantages of HP / iCAS as an archive structure.
