American Nurse Today Wins Two ASHPE Awards

Doylestown, PA, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- American Nurse Today, the official journal of the American Nurses Association (ANA), today announced that its June 2009 cover, Autism Today, has been named “Best Cover” by the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE).

In addition to the Gold Award for Best Cover (Photo), the February 2009 issue of American Nurse Today received a Silver Award for Best Overall Use of Graphics.

ASHPE recognizes outstanding editorial and design excellence and achievement in healthcare publications. The annual competition provides an opportunity for editors to measure their efforts and publications against the best the healthcare sector has to offer.

“Photos and other forms of art are essential to drive home key points of an article,” said Pamela Cipriano, PhD, RN, FAAN, NEA-BC, Editor-in-Chief of American Nurse Today. “We are pleased ASHPE has chosen to recognize American Nurse Today for its excellence in graphics.”

“We’re excited that ASHPE has identified the value of the content published in American Nurse Today,” added Rebecca M. Patton, MSN, RN, CNOR, of the American Nurses Association. “This type of recognition illustrates the value of this membership benefit.”

Gregory Osborne, Publisher for American Nurse Today, said, “ASHPE’s recognition of excellence is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide the content nurses need to be successful in their practice — and their lives. We are proud that for three straight years American Nurse Today has been recognized with very diverse editorial awards from ASHPE.”
