USD 207 Teacher Recognized for Excellence in Use of Classroom Website
Fort Leavenworth, KS, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jessica Corriston a 5th grade teacher at Eisenhower Elementary was honored this week for her website being recognized in the Top Classroom “21st Century Community” by a panel of judges reviewing over 14,000 sites nominated by 57,000 users.
The review committee noted that Ms. Corriston uses her Classroom as a true, centralized communication hub that engages and informs students and parents with organized, relevant content. She has fully integrated the entire suite of Classroom tools including: Multimedia Blog, Discussion Topics, Class Announcements, Class Homework, Class Calendar, Class Links and Class Files. Mrs. Corriston is 1 of 3 winners of the “21st Century Community” award for 2010.
Deborah Beauchle, Superintendent of Schools, upon hearing of this recognition said, “We are all very proud of Jessica’s accomplishments. She is very committed to her student. The award recognizes her focus on the incorporation of technology into student learning opportunities.”
Alan Landever, Director of Technology, stated, “In 2009 the district selected School Fusion as a partner to support our website and it has proven to be a very smart move, with SchoolFusion, students are organized and engaged, teachers are efficient and parents are involved and informed. Landever described Jessica as “an inspiring member of the faculty who clearly makes the most of the resources the district has made available.” Landever shared his belief that, “Jessica will be a tremendous asset to the district as we move to the next phase of our adoption of Web 2.0 collaborative technologies to engage students and families and create a thriving learning landscape that prepares them for the high-tech global economy that they will inherit.”

The School Fusion tool made it very easy to build a website that allowed me to communicate with parents and share resources with students outside of school hours.”
