RefrigeratorArtist.com Announces April Recipient of Savings Bond Prize
First-grader Raquel Chaupiz, of Montgomery County, Maryland, is the latest young artist to win $400 in U.S. savings bonds in the monthly RefrigeratorArtist.com children's art contest.
Reston, VA, May 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- "Tweety," a drawing by Raquel Chaupiz, was the winning artwork in the April children's art contest on RefrigeratorArtist.com. Raquel, a first-grader, will receive $400 in U.S. savings bonds from RefrigeratorArtist.com for creating the winning artwork.
The website, which provides a place for parents to store and share their child’s artwork online, hosts a monthly drawing that any parent may enter for free. Parents enter by selecting one piece of art from their child’s gallery each month to receive votes from other site members. Every vote the artwork receives becomes another entry in the drawing, increasing the artist’s chances of winning the savings bonds that month.
Raquel's father, Fred, is the site member who uses the site to display and share Raquel's artwork and entered her "Tweety" drawing in the April contest. Friends and relatives then joined the site and voted regularly, boosting Raquel's chances and ultimately helping her to win the April prize.
Fred found RefrigeratorArtist.com through a Google search for drawing contests for kids. He said those he has shared the site with thought it "was a great idea because it gives all children a chance to show off their artwork no matter what their artistic ability may be."
He also likes the customized product ordering aspect of the site. "I think it's great having a site where you can turn your child's artwork into gifts for moms, dads, and grandparents alike."
