juris Legal Portal on the Safe Side with FirstSpirit CMS
The legal portal juris has replaced its previous content solution with the CMS FirstSpirit. With FirstSpirit, several thousand pages will be managed on more than 15 of the legal portal's domains and content will be published in various formats, such as newsletters and customer emails.
London, United Kingdom, May 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- juris GmbH has replaced its previous content solution with the high-end content management system (CMS) FirstSpirit, from e-Spirit. Modern, integrated, and stable, as well as user-friendly and future-proof – these were the qualities juris was looking for in a new CMS and which the previous solution was unable to provide. Now, with FirstSpirit, several thousand pages will be managed on more than 15 of the legal portal's domains and content will be published in various formats, such as newsletters and customer emails. All of the company's web projects will be converted to FirstSpirit by the end of 2010.
Legal portal with 15,000,000 documents
juris has over thirty years of experience managing and furnishing legal information, including legal texts and court decisions of every type, and provides over 15 million documents on its portals. These documents are managed through an internal document management system (DMS). The legal portal provides its professional users with packets, modules, specialized portals, along with access to commentary and professional journals, and also offers free services and information such as seminars and newsletters. Content for these products will be created and managed in FirstSpirit.
Usability and system architecture were key considerations
Key considerations in the decision to go with FirstSpirit were thus the system's ability to reuse existing content and layouts both in different output channels and all the different specialist portals, along with the powerful user-friendliness for editors, workflows that are decoupled from the existing portal solution, the Java architecture, and the scalability of the CMS. Other important factors were support for archiving, the comprehensive out-of-the-box functionalities, and the resulting rapid implementation.
More pleasure, less aggravation
"Our previous solution was out of date and had serious shortcomings mainly in the editor interface, in particular in its preview- and search functionalities," said Jorg Reichert, Business Project Manager at juris and manager of the FirstSpirit implementation. As an information service provider, juris also has strict requirements for availability and stability, and therefore it requires a CMS that will not interfere with the portal applications. "Our goal was to find a CMS that worked independently of our portal infrastructure and could supply it with data. With FirstSpirit, e-Spirit clearly offered the most convincing solution for these requirements." Thanks to the cleverly designed structure and user-friendly design, it has been able to greatly reduce training costs for users, and that has helped juris to increase productivity. "The hassles of the old system have been replaced with the pleasure of working with FirstSpirit," adds Jorg Reichert.
