Seminal Films Releases Lunatics, Lovers & Poets
‘Lunatics, Lovers & Poets’ has just completed a successful theatrical run in 20 US cities. The DVD release is scheduled for September 7, 2010.
Los Angeles, CA, May 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Seminal Films is pleased to announce the release of the award-winning dramatic film, ‘Lunatics, Lovers & Poets,’ a gritty story of love and redemption inside a Scottish family.
Seamus MacGregor (Leif Gantvort) is a struggling novelist who finds himself broke, broken and haunted by the very thing he is writing about. On the verge of self-destruction, he will have to confront his estranged, lunatic, alcoholic father who lives in a Shakespearean dream world. His girlfriend Maria is leaving him for another woman, and his cousin Micky is about to move out and get married. If he can just finish his story, he may put to rest a secret from his childhood and find redemption.
‘Lunatics, Lovers & Poets’ is a visually stunning and beautifully scored film with great performances. It stars Cotter Smith, who can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed play “Next Fall” on Broadway, Leif Gantvort, who was nominated for Best Actor at the Method Fest Film Festival, Maria Elena Laas, Madeline Scoular, Jeremy Robinson, Katie Halchishick and Scott Jackman. It is written and directed by John Scoular, produced by TamDerek Films and Executive Produced by Rui Da Silva and Mathius Mack Gertz of Seminal Films.
The film has been to nine film festivals and won three awards, including Best Screenplay at The Method Fest Film Festival, Best in Show at the Real to Reel International Film Festival, and the Aloha Accolade Award at the Honolulu International Film Festival.
