Podcast Announces New College Counseling Service Available via the Internet from Top-Tier Tutoring
In his latest podcast, Mike Rivera of Top-Tier Tutoring describes the company’s new service: College Counseling to students all over the United States, via the internet.
West Orange, NJ, May 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Top-Tier Tutoring is excited to offer a twist to its core business: college counseling over the internet to students anywhere in the United States. The same outstanding college counseling service being offered to clients at its West Orange, New Jersey location is now available to anyone who has a computer and a webcam. While not physically located in the same room, clients opting for this internet option will receive identical guidance through the college admissions process, minus a literal pat on the back. In this podcast, co-founder, college counselor and tutor Mike Rivera of Top-Tier Tutoring discusses the logistics of online college counseling. Essentially, all a client needs to do is download Skype – a web-telecommunication free software that allows for videoconferencing. Student and counselor will meet, over the internet, at their scheduled time to discuss the topic at hand. College counseling clients will receive help with creating a college list, generating a schedule for taking standardized tests, developing an academic resume, reviewing summer experiences and opportunities, discussing approaches to the personal essay, obtaining teacher recommendations, preparing for the college interview, coordinating application submissions, and much more. In addition to the individual sessions, clients will have access to the counselor via phone and email in between sessions. Parents will be able to sit in during the sessions, just as if they were physically in Top-Tier Tutoring’s New Jersey center.
“We received many expressions of interest for our college counseling services from people for whom coming to Top-Tier Tutoring’s West Orange, NJ center simply was not feasible,” explains Rivera. He continues: “After some investigation, we discovered Skype and determined that we could offer the same quality, one-on-one college counseling service to students via the internet as we do in a face-to-face situation. This new service is a natural evolution for Top-Tier Tutoring, and we are very excited to work with students across the United States!”
