Wanted: Society’s Heroes for 2010 Alternative Rich List
Third consecutive year for programme to recognise society’s inspirational leaders. Call for entries issued to find people who make a meaningful difference: Winners to be announced at forum3 event on 24th September.
London, United Kingdom, May 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For the third consecutive year forum3, the leading UK recruitment event for the Third Sector, has launched The Alternative Rich List in recognition of the true heroes in society. In a nation-wide campaign, the public is being asked to nominate inspirational individuals who have made a difference in society and are rich in terms of life experience.
“The last two years’ campaigns have been very successful with over 6,000 people voting to recognize the unsung heroes of our society,” said Deborah Hockham, director, forum3. “Their achievements often go on behind the scenes and don’t always bring rewards that start with a pound sign. The people who have been nominated since we started The Alternative Rich List are tireless in their efforts for others, brave in their endeavours and inspirational to everyone who hears about them. It’s a privilege for us to be helping to shine a light on these remarkable people.”
Recognising individuals who enrich other people’s lives, The Alternative Rich List has captured a devoted following of supporters with more than 5,000 people voting last year to reject traditional finance-focussed success measurement, to nominate and shortlist people who make a difference. One hundred people were nominated for the Alternative Rich List in 2009 and the 2010 call for entries is being issued across the country (and the world) to ensure this year’s Alternative Rich List secures the widest possible number of nominations.
