Dover Downs Hotel & Casino Makes Way for Table Games

Dover, DE, May 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dover Downs Hotel & Casino is continuing a remodel in the main casino and a retrofit of the third floor to accommodate live table game operations. Table games in the casino are anticipated to go live by the end of June. The former simulcast area on the third floor is being retrofitted into a poker room, which is projected to open in mid July. The two areas combined will accommodate more than 300 players, initially, and plans include future expansion possibilities.

The center of the main casino floor is now clear of slot machines to make way for 40 gaming tables comprised of Craps, Roulette and card games including Blackjack, Baccarat, 3-Card Poker and Pai Gow Poker. “We have taken measures to minimize inconvenience to our casino customers while we increase our gaming offerings,” said Pete Bradley, vice president of Casino Operations.

“Work is being performed simultaneously on the main casino floor and to the former horse racing simulcast area. The third floor space is being transformed into the beautiful Crown Royal Poker Room for Texas Hold’em tables, by far the most popular poker game. We anticipate that this room will open in mid July.”

Previous renovations were completed in April when one hundred slot machines were relocated to the fourth floor in the area known as Trackview Slots. Six, highly popular $5 and $10 Blackjack electronic table games were moved up from the casino floor in addition to 94 slot machines, in denominations from a penny to a quarter. Trackview Slots opened to customers on April 23.
