U.S. E.P.A. Recognizes DuBois Chemicals as DfE Partner
Sharonville, OH, May 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- DuBois proudly announces that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized DuBois as a partner in their Design for the Environment (DfE) Safer Product Labeling program on March 22, 2010. The first DuBois products from this partnership are Treo Neutral Floor Cleaner and Treo General Purpose Cleaner. These cleaners are formulated with readily biodegradable surfactants and contain no harmful solvents, phosphates, or HAPs. These two products carry the E.P.A.'s DfE logo and are recognized for safer chemistry and help ensure a safe workplace.
DfE is a voluntary partnership program of the E.P.A. that began in 1992. The program encourages manufacturers to formulate products which reduce risk to users and to the environment, while preventing and reducing the use of chemicals of concern. DfE recognizes products which are effective and exhibit safer chemistry. Becoming a partner with the E.P.A. in the DfE program encourages DuBois to continually improve their products.
Classically products less harmful to people and the environment were less effective compared to conventional chemistries. Independent lab testing of the Treo cleaners was conducted against widely-used competing products that have not passed the DfE screen. The results of these studies show Treo cleaners outperforming these less safe, conventional chemistries. Treo Neutral Floor Cleaner can be used like any other floor cleaner. It is suitable for mop and bucket to automatic floor scrubbing applications. It emulsifies light-to-moderate soils typically found on manufacturing floors. Treo General Purpose Cleaner effectively removes greases and oils from hard surfaces. Treo General Purpose Cleaner can be used on machine surfaces, work stations and benches, counters, and other hard, working surfaces. This is a big step forward in providing safe and effective products for customers.
