Hailsham Town Mayor Supports Hailsham Lions Country Fayre

The Hailsham Lions Club is promising a day of fun and entertainment for all on Sunday 6th June at Broad Farm, Hellingly.

Hailsham, United Kingdom, May 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Mayor of Hailsham Councillor Robin Kempe will be starting off the proceedings at 12 noon for the 2nd annual Game & Country Fayre, and will officially open the ‘arena’ with a few words. The newly crowned Hailsham Carnival Queen will also be in attendance.

The event offers a range of exciting activities for all the family, including a Punch & Judy side show and to keep people going, there will be a BBQ and other refreshments. There will be over 150 traditional stalls, including local crafts, specialist food and drink and an Italian food market.

3,500 pounds Sterling was raised at last year’s event for the Sussex Air Ambulance and £2,000 for the Eastbourne Samaritans. All proceeds from the Fayre this year will go to the Hailsham Pavilion who are trying to raise 80,000 pounds Sterling to enable them to ‘go digital,’ and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Looking forward to opening the event, Councillor Kempe said, “This year’s Game & Country Fayre is set to be the best yet, is one day that everybody looks forward to and Broad Farm is the perfect setting in which to hold it.”

He added, “I would like to thank the Hailsham Lions Club for the hard work put into organising this fantastic event and I hope they get all the support they need from the public in order to raise vital funds for the Hailsham Pavilion and other good causes.”

Entrance is 4 pounds Sterling for adults, with free entry for children under 12.

Since their establishment in 1970, Hailsham Lions Club members have worked on a variety of fundraising projects and events in the local community, donating all proceeds to local good causes.

The Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the Freedom Leisure Centre (upstairs committee room) starting at 7.45pm, and is very keen to attract new members. Membership is open to all those who wish to help their local community.
