Boise Inc. Implements Real-Time Costing System from Enterprise Performance Solutions
Atlanta, GA, May 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Enterprise Performance Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of innovative cost management solutions to the process manufacturing industry, today announced the successful implementation of its EPS Real-Time Costing system with paper products manufacturer, Boise Inc.
The EPS Real-Time Costing system has been centrally installed for four Boise paper mills, located in Wallula, Wash.; Jackson, Ala.; International Falls, Minn.; and St. Helens, Ore. The implementation of the EPS Real-Time Costing system follows the successful installation of the EPS Product Cost Management system in 2007.
Benefits and features of the EPS Real-Time Costing system include:
- The system shows, in real-time, how production decisions impact the actual production cost, and thereby allows production managers and machine operators to take immediate action.
- Production cost, productivity and quality data is presented to production staff through the mill information system Proficy, providing a complete picture of the actual production performance.
- Accounting and engineering staff are able to more accurately maintain grade recipes and standard cost. Weighted average actual cost information by grade, basis weight and machine is available by jumbo reel, run, shift, month, and year.
- Engineering staff receives immediate feedback on consumptions, costs and productivity for trials, thereby making trial evaluations more efficient.
- Consumptions and cost information is available based on gross production (after the paper machine), but also for net production, where winder losses and wasted rolls have been included in the cost analysis.
