Choose Your Own Adventure® Welcomes Ron Buehl
Top Editor Ron Buehl Joins New Choose Your Own Adventure Project
Waitsfield, VT, November 28, 2006 --(PR.com)-- http://www.chooseco.com - Chooseco, publishers of the acclaimed interactive Choose Your Own Adventure series, has joined ranks with well-known editor and publisher Ron Buehl for a new CYOA project—The Golden Path.
During his 42-year career, Mr. Buehl has published a number of best-selling authors, including Judy Blume, S. E. Hinton and Paula Danziger. At Random House, he worked with Dr. Seuss and the Berenstains (of “Bear” fame). Then, as editorial director for Bantam’s juvenile division in the early 80s, he met Ray Montgomery, founder of the Choose Your Own Adventure® series, a driving force behind Bantam’s success in children’s books at the time.
”I’m really glad to be involved with Choose Your Own Adventure again,” states Buehl. “It was fun years ago and is just as fun now to work on this phenomenal series.”
Ray Montgomery says, “Ron embodies the ‘right stuff’ of Choose Your Own Adventure; he gives the writer permission to try any and all ideas and fail and try again. ‘No’ is not a word in his vocabulary. I have been very lucky to work with Ron. He believes in kids—of all ages. We are thrilled to have him aboard.”
Senior managing editor, Melissa Bounty says this about The Golden Path, due out Fall of 2007: “Although this new CYOA series is aimed at slightly older reader, up to age 14, it still places the reader in the ‘you’ position.”
The Golden Path is set in a self-contained universe—a mixture of myth, fantasy, and exotic adventure (this last is still redundant). In a departure from the traditional format, the seven titles will feature recurring characters and a continuing storyline.
