Historical March: 95 - Mile Walk from Birmingham to Montgomery, Alabama
Birmingham, AL, May 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Historical March: 95–Mile walk from Birmingham to the Steps of the State Capitol in Montgomery Alabama.
Christian Missions Church is sponsoring “Walking for a Good Cause.” The walk will begin on Friday, June 11, 2010 in Birmingham and end on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Montgomery, Alabama.
"We will walk for nine (9) days, after which we shall celebrate with a Rally on the steps of the State Capitol in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday, June 19th at 12:30 pm (CT). The Rally will be preceded by the crowd marching one mile from Clayton Street through Dexter Avenue to the steps of the Capitol."
Christian Missions Church has invited the religious leaders from different denominations and elected officials. Also the church is extending this invitation to members of the media so that they can share in this historical event.
The activities of the Rally will include: Speeches from the religious leaders and elected officials; Prayers to thank God for this Walk and Rally; Prayers for our National and Local leaders; Prayers for the Governor and the State of Alabama, and presentation of certificates and medals to each participant of the “95-Mile Walk.”
Christian Missions International Ministries, Inc. (Christian Missions Church) would like to invite Christians and everyone who wishes to support this good cause to participate in the Rally to celebrate Chrisitian Missions Church historical walk: “Walking For A Good Cause - Building A House of Worship” on June 19th, 2010 in Montgomery, Alabama.
When members of Christian Missions Church (formerly Swahili Church) began services in Homewood, Alabama (nearly seven years ago) have had to move from one rental building to another. This limited Christian Missions Church services to be held mostly on Sunday evenings. The Church's vision is to purchase land and a building to provide a place that can call home and serve the Birmingham community.
