About the Book (Excerpts & Info)
San Francisco's Edgewood Avenue dead-ends at the brink of an expansive forest. Within that forest, on an isolated hill, sits a NIKE surface-to-air missile battery, with radar trailers, launch hoists, and V-2 derivative missiles.
Together, unsuspected by Edgewoodians, were the principal, percipient makings for, proverbially, The Fall. Radioactive agents, a dubious panoply of toxic wastes, from Hunter's Point, Alameda Naval Air, and other sites were interred at the cockcrow of the blooming Nuclear Age.
In this scientific/adventure/thriller, United Nations officials in the Netherlands acquire planted documents-a "Blue Pack"-which reveal a 30-year blueprint for the erection of Underground City One, a massive bomb shelter in a decommissioned NORAD base in Colorado. The plan is modeled after the A-bomb, Manhattan Project exigent, top-secret mind set, and its strategy involves politico-scientists-"humanist engineers of a new world"-select persons drawn from President Eisenhower's predicted "military industrial complex" circa 1960.
The "Blue" is discovered by Dr. Monika Vandersson, a crack UN Senior Environmental Science Analyst in the Netherlands' Departement Omgeving Wetschap. The documents are secretly circulated and soon attract the attention of the Pentagon. Reunited in the 21st century, the senior Edgewood adults come together with one goal: to deconstruct the massive liquidation scheme, including the eradication of millions of city dwellers. Avoiding this genocide will take the cooperation of select hackers, UN employees, and a small unit of Marines-as well as the long-separated progeny of Edgewood Avenue.
Deftly constructed at 510 pages, The Edgewood Troupe is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Fiction / Action & Adventure category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, The Edgewood Troupe meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $18.95 and $25.95, respectively.
Additionally, The Edgewood Troupe can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press wholesale online bookstore at www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks
