Rochester, NY, May 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Vincent Associates® (http://www.uniblitz.com) is pleased to announce that it has received patents in China, Hong Kong, Japan and most recently Germany for its revolutionary CS series damping system. The CS damping system is largely responsible for a significant improvement in reliability over other shutter designs.
The CS damping system utilizes materials that maximize damping capability without adhesion. The innovative shape of the damps minimizes adhesion and wear. The CS damping system prevents the shutter’s blades from traveling beyond their maximum end position and from striking adjacent structure.
Other multi-blade rotary shutter designs use a separate spring to damp the blade drive mechanism. This spring elongates as the shutter moves to the open position, effectively slowing the blades down so their impact force at the maximum travel is reduced. Frequently the inertia of the blades’ drive system causes this spring’s force to be exceeded, allowing the shutter blades to move beyond their end position and strike an adjacent structure. The new CS damping system allows the blade to travel at full velocity toward opening and closing, and provides controlled damping to stop the blades without damaging the shutter’s mechanism.
