Sonitrol’s John Ray III Elected to Board of Governors of NSU Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship
Ray began his career in the electronic security industry with Sensormatic in 1990. In 2001, he purchased the Sonitrol of Fort Lauderdale franchise and has built the business to become the fastest growing of Sonitrol’s independent Florida dealerships. Along with this accomplishment, Sonitrol of Ft. Lauderdale was named the national company’s Franchise of the Year in 2007. Ray earned his BA and MBA degrees from Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, May 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- John Ray, III, president of Sonitrol of Fort Lauderdale, has been elected a member of the Board of Governors of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
Comprised of more than 40 successful business leaders, the board serves as an ongoing advisory resource for the school.
Ray began his career in the electronic security industry with Sensormatic in 1990. Ray earned his BA and MBA degrees from Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
He is a licensed electrical alarm contractor for the State of Florida and is a member of the Alarm Association of Florida, the American Society of Industrial Security, and the Florida Crime Prevention Association. He is regional director for the Sonitrol National Dealers Association (SNDA). He was a founding member of the Safe at Work initiative sponsored by then-State Attorney General Charlie Crist.
Active in the community, Ray is past president and a current board member of the Executives’ Association of Fort Lauderdale, and is a board member for Junior Achievement of South Florida. He also serves as an officer and board member for the St. Thomas Aquinas Alumni Association.
