Love, Pearls, and Swine Aims to Support Young Women in Developing Healthy Relationships
New online community launches with vision to support young women in developing and maintaining healthy dating and marriage relationships.
Charlotte, NC, November 29, 2006 --(PR.com)-- As the divorce rates in our country continue to reach unacceptable heights, the importance of educating and supporting young women in their endeavors to create lasting relationships is evident. Love, Pearls, and Swine launched November 19th 2006 with just that noble mission in mind.
“Dating is certainly not what it used to be. You really have to try hard these days to weed through all the nonsense,” says 23-year-old Favor Abereoje in Maryland.
The dating scene has progressed through many changes over the past few years. Therefore, the methods by which our young women are educated and supported must reflect these changes.
Co-founder of Love, Pearls and Swine, Abi Olukeye, explains that in order for the organization to impact today’s young women positively in the area of relationship health; it must employ three important strategies:
“We first have to be relevant; sensitivity to the diverse technologies, styles, and methods of dating available such as online dating is essential. Then we have to be educational. Though the competition is tough with negative news being filtered through the media daily, it is important to ensure there is always an alternative message. Lastly, we have to be supportive. We do this by using our website as an avenue for our young women to get their questions answered not just from experts but also from everyday women who have been there and done that.”
When asked the story behind the name of the organization, Abi smiles and explains, “It was inspired by Matthew 7:6 in the scriptures. The idea is that in order to love successfully, women must realize they have pearls of essence and priceless value inside of them and can’t afford to allow “swine,” men who won’t appreciate them, play near their hearts.”
