Tampa Digital Studios Launches oparacingtour.com, an Exclusive Online Offshore Racing Fan Destination Linked to New World-Class Opa Racing Tour Presented by GEICO

Tampa, FL, May 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tampa Digital Studios, a visual communications company, today announced that it is launching oparacingtour.com, a comprehensive companion website to Tampa Digital’s television production for sports cable network VERSUS of the Offshore Powerboat Association [OPA] Racing Tour, an eight race series presented by GEICO.

The new international offshore racing tour website, oparacingtour.com, features a video player that will access a library of race event video stories, vignettes and behind-the-scene reports; as well as racing news, updates and results; information about fans’ favorite offshore racing teams; and teams’ merchandise stores.

Additionally, OPA Racing Tour followers will be allowed to upload to the fan site their own racing event video and photos commonly taken from camera phones or consumer digital video cameras. Viewers and visitors can then comment on, rate and share other fans’ videos and photos posted on the site.

“This unique site for OPA is a destination oriented to the offshore race fan of the 2010 OPA Racing Tour,” said Tampa Digital’s Jim Kopcik, the website’s producer and television producer for the race tour broadcast on VERSUS.

Kopcik added: “With the site’s interactivity and gold nuggets of onsite reporting and story telling, OPA is exclusively providing those new tour fans and general offshore racing enthusiasts an experience in which they will actively be a part of each race and a chance to get up close and become better acquainted with the offshore racers and their teams.”

The OPA Racing Tour website, oparacingtour.com, was designed by Nathan Heim and programmed by Imre Mehesz, both of Tampa Digital.

The broadcast of the OPA Racing Tour will showcase the racing series in high definition and focus on the racing action, powerboat technology, high-end equipment, charismatic and colorful personalities of the racers, and clandestine drama associated with elite offshore competitions.

The racing series begins May 28 - 30, 2010 in Ocean City, MD and concludes with its tour championship October 12 - 17, 2010 in Orange Beach, AL. The broadcast on VERSUS is scheduled for consecutive Sundays starting November 14, 2010 through January 2, 2011.
