Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water Selects Digicore Vehicle Tracking
London, United Kingdom, November 30, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water, the water company serving 420,000 people in parts of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, has appointed DigiCore to develop a vehicle tracking solution for its fleet of cars, vans and commercial vehicles. Under the agreement, 105 vehicles will be installed with DigiCore’s innovative C-track vehicle tracking and fleet management system to achieve a range of operational and business benefits.
The vehicle tracking solution has been designed to support Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water’s ongoing business plan to achieve efficiencies and promote best-practice throughout all areas of its operation. Utilising the C-track system, the company expects to optimise its fleet operation by reducing fuel usage, enhancing work practices and planning, and improving customer service levels through faster response times.
Furthermore, the vehicle tracking system will form an essential part of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water’s health and safety policy and code of practice, enabling the company to better manage work-related road safety. Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water is also committed to protecting its mobile workforce and improving working conditions, so as part of the solution, panic alarms have been installed on approximately 60 of the vehicles to allow employees to call for assistance in an emergency.
Richard Barton at Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water commented: “The C-track system is a proven vehicle tracking tool that will provide greater visibility of our mobile assets and workforce. This added insight will enable Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water to achieve substantial operating efficiencies, whilst improving management of health and safety risks, and customer service.”
Tom O’Connor, Managing Director of DigiCore Ltd said: “We are delighted to be working with Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water and this partnership further underlines the expertise DigiCore possesses within the utilities sector. The C-track system has become the vehicle tracking system of choice amongst utilities businesses by repeatedly demonstrating the value it can provide.”
C-track is a sophisticated fleet management system that adopts the latest technology to provide a comprehensive real-time vehicle management tool. This proven solution provides vital information about mobile assets and workforce, and offers a scaleable mobile solution that meets the complex needs of car, van and commercial vehicle fleet operators.
