Postcode Anywhere “Best Practice” Supplier for E-Commerce
Recognised supplier for Interactive Media in Retail Group’s new Gold Standard for Home Delivery.
Worcester, United Kingdom, June 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Address data specialist Postcode Anywhere is now a listed supplier for the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) online retail delivery initiative, which accredits e-retailers who offer online shoppers superior purchase and delivery processes.
Postcode Anywhere provides a range of e-commerce website optimisation technologies, including UK and international address auto-fill, “where’s my nearest?” store finder functionality, and interactive maps.
The Internet Delivery Is Safe (IDIS) Gold Standard results from the latest industry research, including the recent IMRG and Postcode Anywhere report, which calculated the annual cost to UK e-commerce of failed postal delivery at up to 1 billion pounds Sterling. Of this, 146m pounds Sterling was attributed to poorly addressed packages.
Postcode Anywhere’s managing director Guy Mucklow said: “With the cost of failed delivery putting an estimated seventy pence onto the average price of every single parcel dispatched in the UK, it’s encouraging news that IMRG is encouraging e-tailers to adopt best practice when it comes to online delivery.

That’s a wasted 300-mile round trip for the courier and over a week’s delay for the customer.
“Although mistyped data is often the ‘fault’ of the consumer, it is up to the e-commerce vendor to make sure they collect an accurate address, because they bear a responsibility to their customers along with the cost of replacement or redirection if things go wrong.
