Benis, one of 150 highly qualified VPA physicians, will work out of the East Cleveland office, which covers the greater Cleveland area and surrounding suburbs, including Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Northern Summit and Northern Portage counties.

The East Cleveland office covers the greater Cleveland area and surrounding suburbs, including Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Northern Summit and Northern Portage counties.
The hiring of Benis places her among the more than 150 highly qualified physicians available to assist in the diagnosis and ongoing medical treatment of seniors across 31 locations in nine states. Benis comes to VPA after working in urgent care for Medgroup in University Heights, Ohio, where she treated an average of 35 adults and children per day.
During that time, she also attended to house calls for geriatric patients through Physicians House Calls in Highland Heights, Ohio. Her previous experience was also in urgent care working for University Hospitals Urgent Care in Chagrin, Highlands and Mentor counties and Patient First in Berea, Ohio.
She earned her medical doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 1985. Benis completed her residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Hospitals and served as the chief resident at Mt. Sinai Hospital of Cleveland. She also completed a fellowship in neonatology at Metro Health Medical Center.
Benis holds an Ohio medical license and is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology. She also has staff privileges at Hillcrest Hospital, Parma, Southwest and University Hospital.
