New Colorado Company Uses Technology to Make Swimmers of All Ages Better and Faster
For many people, swimming is a skill that is both terrifying and rewarding at the same time. Yet the better your skill level, the more you’ll enjoy water activities throughout your life. Now, one Colorado company is making people better swimmers, aiding new swimmers in developing a lifelong skill, and refining advanced and competitive swimmers to become even better at the sport of swimming.
Highlands Ranch, CO, December 01, 2006 --(PR.com)-- SwimLabs has announced the ground breaking of its first location in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and is scheduled to open in December 2006.
SwimLabs (http://www.swimlabs.com/) is a high tech training program designed to focus specifically on the fundamental issue of technique. Unlike traditional swim programs that teach groups of swimmers in a large pool, SwimLabs concentrates on individualized instruction, and works at perfecting skill in a shorter period of time.
“As a coach, I watch children and adults with all abilities struggle with certain skills,” stated Michael Mann, CEO of SwimLabs. “Proper technique is the single most important key to becoming a good swimmer.”
Gaining proper technique is the mission of SwimLabs. The entire SwimLabs training is focused on improving technique by relying on the latest in advanced video and computer technology. As a swimmer swims in the specially equipped Endless pool, both video and computer technology are used to record the swimmers individual strokes. Using video imagery and Dartfish, a powerful software program utilized at the US Olympic Training Center, SwimLabs can instantly compare a swimmers stroke to that of the worlds best swimmers. With a special mirror and a video monitor, the student can instantly see what they are doing wrong, and with the help of the specialized training staff, make corrections accordingly.
“This program is designed for any level of swimmer,” stated Mann. “We can teach a child to swim in less time, improve the strokes of a junior athlete, or refine the movements of a competitive swimmer. Our program works because the student can see what they are doing wrong. With instant feedback, our students learn to swim faster and more efficiently.”
SwimLabs is a US Swim Schools Association member, and every coach is highly trained and certified. With personalized training, the coach is never more than a few feet away, and provides constant instruction and immediate feedback.
SwimLabs has four learn to swim programs, designed for every age group from baby through adult; a competitive training program for children and adults engaged in competitive swimming; and a triathlon and masters program created to refine top skills. They offer both private and semi-private lessons, and offer warm water group lessons with a maximum of four individuals per class.
