Workshop on Gonioscopy by Dr. Ajit Hazari MD, Consultant at Hazari Nursing Home

Aurangabad, India, June 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A special workshop on Gonioscopy was conducted at Ambejogai Medical College. Dr. Ajit Hazari, a prominent glaucoma and phaco surgeon from Aurangabad was the faculty for it. Hands on training was given to the doctors in Gonioscopy and glaucoma cases were discussed in an interactive session. It was followed by lectures on Interpreting Automated Perimetry. The free workshop was attended by resident doctors of the eye department of the college as well as the eye surgeons from Ambejogai, Parli, Majalgaon, and Gangakhed. Dr. Hazari remarked that Gonioscopy and Automated perimetry are tests that are very useful for detecting glaucoma early. And with the help of these two techniques we can help prevent blindness due to glaucoma. He lauded the efforts of Dr. Zanwar of Parli and Dr. Dongre of Ambejogai Medial college who have been consistently arranging similar skill transfer workshops for the eye surgeons of the region. He said that only through such efforts can we spread the awareness and improve the general quality of eye care in smaller towns and remote areas.
