Philadelphia, PA, June 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Reluctant Gourmet honors its third Culinary Grant recipient.
The Reluctant Gourmet is proud to announce that Karly Krentz has been awarded the Chefs4Students.org Culinary Grant for the 2009/2010 academic year. This is the third year that The Reluctant Gourmet has sponsored the grant, given to culinary students in need of financial assistance.
Recipients of this grant are awarded $1,000.00 to put toward their culinary education.
Applicants for the Chefs4Students.org Culinary Grant Program must be attending culinary school and are required to submit their transcripts and a 500-word essay, as well as letters of recommendation and proof of financial need. After an initial review of all applicants by co-founder of Chefs4Students.org, Chef David Nelson, and a panel of certified chefs, business professionals, and culinary professionals, The Reluctant Gourmet made the final decision as to which student would receive the Reluctant Gourmet Culinary Grant.
Karly Krentz began her culinary studies at Fruitport High School as a member of the culinary arts team, with whom she competed in a number of culinary competitions around the country. The 18 year-old culinary student will put this grant toward her education at Secchia Institute for Culinary Education, which is part of the Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
