New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council Holds Business Opportunity Expo 2010 in Manhattan on June 15
Expo is Considered New York City’s Top Conference on Outsourcing to Minority Businesses, Keynote Speaker is Frans Johansson, Author of Bestseller The Medici Effect: Breakthrough Insights at the Intersection of Ideas, Concepts and Cultures
New York, NY, June 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Innovative strategies for minority business to grow through social media and unique collaborations will be explored at the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council’s Business Opportunity Expo 2010 on Tuesday, June 15 at the New York Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway in New York City.
Keynote speaker Frans Johansson, author of bestseller The Medici Effect: Breakthrough Insights at the Intersection of Ideas, Concepts and Cultures, stresses that unique ideas and innovations are created through diverse collaborations of skills, expertise and cultures. Raised in Sweden by his African American-Cherokee mother and Swedish father, Johansson holds a Brown University bachelors and a Harvard MBA. Plenary speaker Wendy Chin, a high tech enterprise expert and former COO, Hospital Without Borders, has a Cornell University engineering degree and a Wharton MBA.
“This year’s Expo explores novel business tactics for the new economy. Whether its Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn or iPad and iPhone, social networking is no longer personal, but integral to business,” said Lynda Ireland, president and CEO, The Council. “But, social media has profits and pitfalls. Minority business owners are encouraged to leverage interactive media to create unique collaborations.”
The Council’s Expo is considered New York City’s top conference on outsourcing to minority businesses. This year’s Expo, Innovative Growth for the New Decade, is packed with a breakfast, and luncheon, workshops, seminars, an elegant evening reception and the popular trade fair. Attendees include top minority entrepreneurs and supplier diversity executives from major Fortune 500 companies, institutions and government agencies.
The Expo’s corporate co-chair is Eliseo Rojas, director, Global Sourcing and Procurement, Interpublic Group and MBE co-chair is Jennifer Young-Jackson, president and CEO, RDZ Media Group. The MC is DeMarco Morgan, WNBC-TV anchor-reporter. Sponsors include: Interpublic Group, RDZ Media Group, Prudential Financial, Con Edison, PepsiCo, Bank of New York Mellon and MasterCard Worldwide.
