About Jeff Kimmelman

Mr. Kimmelman has more than 22 years of experience in application development, computer systems, networking and security. He began his career with Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN). His early work involved the development of scientific programs for underwater acoustic data analysis and display systems. These systems required the secure manipulation of sensitive, classified information. Mr. Kimmelman then moved into the field of networking. His work included development of performance analysis tools for the management of public, private and classified data networks. While at BBN, Mr. Kimmelman developed expertise in TCP/IP based networks and applications such as HTTP, SMTP, POP3, DNS, and FTP. This led to his participation in the creation of the DMS testbed, a secure electronic mail product based on digital certificate technology for the US DoD. Mr. Kimmelman developed other software for cryptographic applications before joining the Internet Consulting Group, where he assisted commercial clients with their data networking security requirements. With the GTE purchase of BBN, Mr. Kimmelman assumed the role of CTO for the GTE Professional Services Group. In addition to technical leadership, his duties included:

Definition of professional service offerings,
Design of detailed delivery methodologies,
Creation of market-driven pricing strategies,
Recruitment, training and management of technical and business consultants,
Support of sales staff, marketing efforts and customer proposals.

The Professional Services Group serviced a global customer base including several GTE divisions and GTE International. Mr. Kimmelman’s tenure with the group saw it through a period of rapid growth, becoming the most profitable department within all of GTE.

Following his career at BBN/GTE, Mr. Kimmelman was most recently the Principal Security Architect of Vigilinx Digital Security Solutions. He served in this leadership role within the Professional Services organization providing direction for both internal and client projects. His duties built upon those he performed for GTE. During the period he was with the company, Mr. Kimmelman was responsible for growing the Professional Services delivery capability to match to the rapid sales growth of the company.

Mr. Kimmelman received his Masters of Science in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego from where he had received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music, Physics and Chemistry.
