World-Renowned Magician Jeff McBride Makes Rare Atlanta Appearance
World-renowned magician Jeff McBride, named "one of the most influential magicians of the 20th century" will perform a theatrical magic show and present two "magicians only" lectures in Atlanta on June 11 & 12, 2010.
Atlanta, GA, June 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Atlanta chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians will host an outstanding weekend of magic on June 11 and 12, staring a world-renowned magician entertaining and teaching their members how to improve their craft.
Three-time Guinness World Record holder Jeff McBride has performed on the great stages of Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. MAGIC Magazine called McBride “one of the most influential magicians of the 20th century.”
On Friday June 11 McBride will perform a 90 minute solo stage show at 7:00pm in Atlanta, followed by a two hour lecture during which he’ll teach his fellow magicians top-secret performance methods that will raise their skill level and inspire them to be more theatrical. On Saturday June 12 he will conduct a “Secret Session” Master Class where a small group of attendees will have the privilege of his experiencing an afternoon filled with his unique brand of inspiration, performance theory, and skill-based magic techniques. McBride is an influential teacher and motivator of magicians at his own McBride’s Magic & Mystery School in Las Vegas, as well as when he travels the globe to inspire magicians.
“We are honored to host such a phenomenally talented entertainer during this most exciting event in our magic club’s long and impressive history,” said Lecture Chair and immediate past president Debbie Leifer. “The name Jeff McBride is synonymous with drama, world-class skill, theater, captivating storytelling, and of course powerful magical experiences.”
“The membership of the Georgia Magic Club is a cross-section of magic enthusiasts, hobbyists, part-time pros, and several full time magicians who make their living captivating audiences at corporate events, private parties, schools, libraries, fund raisers, and theaters,” Leifer explained. “Magic is a theatrical craft that requires manual dexterity, verbal communication skills, psychology, audience participation, and the ability to facilitate an experience that results in the spectator feeling a sense of wonder,” Leifer enthusiastically described. As a successful corporate magician and motivational speaker based in Atlanta, Leifer has been a student of McBride on several occasions, and she continues to be inspired by his ability to have an ongoing positive impact on magicians by helping them develop an understanding of how powerful their magical performances can be on their audiences.
Along with other members of the Georgia Magic Club, Leifer appeared last year on a PBS documentary about this organization of Atlanta-based magicians that is now 100 members strong. Along with five other club members, she will star in an upcoming gala magic show scheduled to open the 2010 S.A.M. national conference of magicians coming from around the world to Atlanta on June 30.
