Wockhardt Foundation Celebrates Service Commitment Day on 5th & 7th June with Zest, Energy & Activities
Mumbai, India, June 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dedicated warriors of Wockhardt Foundation across all sites, celebrated Service Commitment Day on 5th & 7th of June, in a unique fashion. US operations in both Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals and Wockhardt USA New Jersey conducted a food drive for local food banks that serve the poor, weak & needy in their areas. Both these locations collected food donations from employees to provide to the various local shelters.
At Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, 4 times a year, fund raising campaigns are on high, for select charity organizations.
Mumbai was not far behind, the warriors at the head office had many activities happening at different locations. Wockhardians donated the pre-owned clothes to local shelters. Ms. Samina Khorakiwala, Chief Warrior for Khel Khel Mein along with warriors Poonam,Akshay,& Shreya visited Maze Maher (home for destitutes), wherein they interacted with young girls and served them lunch. Dr.Srinivasan another warrior of Wockhardt Foundation donated cycles & notebooks & Anand Tuscano, Chief Warrior, WHARF distributed them to poor children in Vasai, (Bhuigaon village).
Apart from this, many other locations across India like Aurangabad (Chikalthana), planted trees, distributed sweets & held a blood donation camp.
The Ankaleshwar location too held a Free Medical Check up Camp for the poor and needy people of Bhadi Gam.
Wockhardt Hospital in Surat distributed Bamboo plants with the Wockhardt Branding to the top doctors in the city, key operating locations & major corporates, with an aim of promoting greener world. They also conducted a medical camp at Kharod, a village near Panoli in association with Wockhardt Pharma. Also a drawing competition was held for children of the staff members based on “let’s paint our earth green.”
Staff at Wockhardt, Rajkot, pledged to register themselves as warriors of Wockhardt Foundation, & adhere to its philosophies.
The celebrations continued till 7th June at the Corporate Office, wherein Wockhardt Foundation organized free blood group check, Random diabetes check & deworming for all the Warriors. Also warriors witnessed Dr. Habil Khorakiwala, Chairman,Wockhardt Group, launch the HK books.org website & the latest book written by Huzaifa Khorakiwala titled “Social Business.”
On the occasion that was spread across 2 days, Huzaifa Khorakiwala, C.E.O, Wockhardt Foundation said, “This day is celebrated as Service Commitment Day, because one of our a very important philosophy states that, “A life of giving, is the only life worth living”. Hence, their warriors work on this philosophy to help spread human values across all locations for the upliftment of the poor, weak and needy”.
