Reality Check Foundation - Golf/Mentoring Program Scores Big with Kids
The Reality Check Foundation presents the Third Annual Reality Check Program Golf Outing. This is a fun filled event for kids ages 11 – 18 to play golf with an adult mentor.
Melbourne, FL, June 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Kids don’t get to play golf all too often and for one day this summer, this will change. The Reality Check Foundation presents the Third Annual Reality Check Foundation Golf Outing which will take place Saturday, August 21st, 2010, 11am – 4:30pm at Viera East Golf Club at 2300 Clubhouse Drive, Viera, Florida. This is a fun filled event for kids ages 11 – 18 to play golf with an adult mentor.
The event will be coordinated by avid golfer and Reality Check Program Founder Larry Lawton. “A great event to show kids that there is more to do then just hang out on the streets,” said Lawton, “No golf experience is necessary; it's meant to be fun and to expose kids to an activity they may not have tried otherwise, showing them that they can enjoy things without getting into trouble." Lawton will give a 20-minute inspirational speech and will visit each group for one-on-one sessions during the tournament.
21 adult mentors will pair up with 63 kids for a nine hole best ball scramble, putting contest, longest drive contest and closest to the pin contest. Viera East Golf Professional Jeff Turner will kick off the event with a free golf clinic for the kids.
Business sponsorships are needed for this event as there is no cost for the kids or the mentors to enjoy the day of golf including a banquet and awards ceremony. Individuals and businesses who wish to help with donations and sponsorships are asked to contact the Reality Check Foundation at 321-327-2921 or info@realityhcheckprogram.org.
The Reality Check Foundation is a 501(C)(3) U.S. public charity formed to help educate teens and young adults to the consequences of bad choices. The Foundation was founded by ex-con Lawrence Lawton who operates the Reality Check Program helping teens and young adults to stay out of trouble and avoid criminal activity.
