Imagination Road: The Adventures of Jazz and Elliott, Published by Outskirts Press
Houston, TX, June 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Doug Duerr announced today the release of the first book in his projected children’s series, The Adventures of Jazz and Elliott, Danielle Goes to the Magical Land of Roop-E-Doo, published by Outskirts Press. In this first tale, two creative shih tzu’s prompt their little friend Danielle to embark on a magical journey. What Danielle discovers is a bright and beautiful world perhaps within her own creative imagination, but very much apart of her dreams.
Due mostly to the magical invention and adventurous spirit of the Shih Tzu Elliott, the journey starts off in Danielle’s bedroom and ends up in the land of Roop-E-Doo. The author captures all of the endearing elements of a good children’s book containing vivid four color illustrations which add drama and life to the story.
The Adventures of Jazz and Elliott targets not only the young children who are its primary audience, of course, but also the adults who are reading the story. Duerr has consciously written his tale to remind “big kids,” as well, that everyone -- regardless of age –has the power within them to imagine the people, pets, objects and world around them in a creative and fun way.
“It is so important that we encourage all children to dream, imagine and see the world this creatively. Growing up, comes way too soon and as adults we often get caught up in life and the challenges and tasks that come our way,” says Duerr, “it is always helpful to remember you still hold the key to your imagination and your childhood dreams. It’s never too late for an adventure!”
Doug Duerr’s imaginative and vividly creative tale provides a whimsical romp for its young audience, but it is also solidly based on the author’s own philosophy that a child’s imagination is the beginning to creating healthy adults.
The Adventures of Jazz and Elliott is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.

Doug Duerr is a personal development coach, writer and community leader. The Adventures of Jazz and Elliott stems from his own experiences with animals, especially his two hilarious and precious companions, Jazz and Elliott. More than fifteen years of love and life was spent with the real life Jazz and Elliott. As a shih tzu rescue advocate, Doug is obviously an animal lover. He appreciates the innocence, love and peaceful strength that our pets give us unconditionally.
