Gorgon Project Control Fluid Contract Awarded to MacDermid Offshore Solutions

Houston, TX, June 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MacDermid Offshore Solutions Australia has signed a contract with Chevron Australia Pty Ltd for the supply of subsea control fluids to the Gorgon Project, offshore Australia.

Support for the project will come from MacDermid’s technical support centre in Western Australia and the fluid manufacturing from its Melbourne facility.

Mark Hollinger, President of MacDermid Offshore Solutions, commented: "This is the one of the largest control fluid contracts ever awarded for a single project. It strengthens our position as the leader in our industry, and positions the company well for a number of other large offshore developments coming up in Australia in the near future."

MacDermid Offshore Solutions provides products and services for the offshore oil industry, worldwide. Their market leading Oceanic and Erifon water-based fluids are used for hydraulic control of valves in offshore drilling and production systems.

The Gorgon Project is operated by Chevron. It is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (approximately 47 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent) and Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (one percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
