Council Member Michele Martinez Takes Office

Open call for Board and Commission appointments for city residents.

Santa Ana, CA, December 05, 2006 --(PR.com)-- This week, Michele Martinez was joined by city residents, friends and family as she took her oath of office for the Santa Ana City Council to serve a four-year term representing residents in Ward 2.

Martinez, a Santa Ana businesswoman, is the youngest woman to serve on the Council, bringing a strong commitment to Santa Ana's youth and education.

"I'd like to thank the out-going Council Members Mike Garcia, Alberta Christy and Lisa Bist for their dedicated work in serving the residents of Santa Ana. I also look forward to working with my newly installed colleagues Sal Tinajero and David Benavides and the rest of the Council," she said.

Martinez's first goal is to collaboratively appoint qualified residents to serve as commission board members to best represent the interests of residents and help shape city policy. Interested residents can download an application from the city web site at www.ci.santa-ana.ca.us and present a copy to Ms. Martinez and keep the original for the Clerk of the Council.

Martinez, advisory committee will interview interested candidates starting December 5th and ending on the 20th. Martinez will then interview the best three candidates from each of the boards and commissions and select one for each of the available boards and commissions.
