Identity Theft Prevention is the goal when Florida mortgage company, Englewood Equity, teams with Secure Document Destruction, Inc. to provide free document shredding services to the public on Saturday, December 9th.
Englewood, FL, December 05, 2006 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, December 9, from 9AM to 1PM, consumers will be able to bring up to 4 file boxes of personal documents for free, secure, onsite shredding at the offices of mortgage company, Englewood Equity Group, at Century Plaza, 2061 Englewood Road, Englewood, FL. Secure Document Destruction, Inc., a certified member of the National Association for Information Destruction, will conduct the shredding using one of its large mobile shredder trucks. The truck can securely shred in seconds what can take hours to shred at home. All of the resulting shredded material will be recycled.

The average cost of an incidence of ID fraud rose to $6838 plus an additional $422 and 40 hours to repair it, according to a study by the Council of Better Business Bureaus.

That’s what prompted us to hold this event.”

Part of protecting your identity and credit is to regularly and securely destroy unneeded bills, old tax returns, account statements, pay stubs, cancelled checks, unsolicited credit card applications, junk mail, and other sensitive documents.
Individuals (no businesses please) can bring up to 4 file boxes (10”x13”x16”), or paper bags of documents to be confidentially shredded at no cost. Please remove all binders, notebooks, binder clips, heavy paper clamps or rings. Paperclips and staples are ok for shredding. Only paper products can be shredded as plastic and other materials contaminate the recycling process.
