Dr. Michael Barnes Appointed as the First Vice Dean of Jindal Global Business School

Dr. Michael Barnes, former Dean of the S.P. Jain Center of Management and Hult International Business School, Dubai, appointed as the first Vice Dean of Jindal Global Business School.

Sonepat, India, June 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- O.P. Jindal Global University announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Barnes as a Professor and the first Vice Dean of Jindal Global Business School (JGBS). Till recently, Dr. Barnes was the Dean of the Global MBA programme at S.P. Jain Centre of Management - conducted jointly at campuses in Dubai and Singapore. Prior to this he was the founding Academic Dean of Hult International Business School in Dubai. He had previously been the inaugural John F. Fiedler-BorgWarner Endowed Chair of Global Business Studies in the College of Business Administration at Kent State University, Ohio.

Dr. Barnes holds a B.Sc. (Econ.) degree from the London School of Economics & Political Science; his MBA degree is from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and his Doctor of Management degree was awarded by Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. At Case Western's Weatherhead School of Management, he served as Assistant Dean for Action Learning & Corporate Liaison. Subsequently, he was Assistant Dean and Director of the MBA Programme at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.

Dr. Barnes has more than twenty five years experience in international finance and banking, holding such positions as Investment Officer for the World Bank in Washington D.C., Director of Lazard Brothers Asset Management in London, Senior Vice President of Gulf International Bank in Bahrain, Executive Director of UBS Securities in London, First Vice President at Union Bank of Switzerland in Zurich, and as Deputy General Manager of the London Branch of the Industrial Bank of Japan.
