"The Global Learning Series" to Raise Understanding and Awareness of Uncontrolled Bleeding and the Grave Effects of Traumatic Blood Loss
Z-Medica’s QuikClot to be featured in “Understanding Emergency Medicine” Episode.
Wallingford, CT, June 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Global Learning Series,” an education-focused public television distributed program, will feature Z-Medica Corporation’s QuikClot line of hemostatic agents in an upcoming episode called “Understanding Emergency Medicine.”
QuikClot is an easy-to-use gauze dressing which helps accelerate the body’s natural clotting process, achieving hemostasis in as little as three minutes, helping to prevent loss of life and limb. Because QuikClot requires very little training to administer, it can be effectively used by medical personnel and civilians in emergency situations. QuikClot is used by the military, first-responders and medical professionals in the field and in clinical environments such as the emergency room, cardiac catheterization laboratory, interventional radiology and virtually anywhere else where bleeding needs to be controlled.
The “Understanding Emergency Medicine” program will explore the use of QuikClot in a variety of applications, to educate viewers on the versatility of the medical advancement in managing traumatic bleeding. The show will be distributed to “The Global Learning Series” network of public television stations, cable networks and web partners later this year.
“Z-Medica continually earns and exceeds global leadership status in bringing effective and safe control of bleeding to civilians and military personnel throughout the world,” said John McGuire, Executive Producer of Programming for The Global Learning Series. “We applaud Z-Medica’s contribution to the medical community and we are pleased to educate global viewers about the advancements they are making.”
