RouterConfig™ Ver 2.01 - Now with Support for Japanease Interface Routers

Ann Arbor, MI, December 08, 2006 --(PR.com)-- zConf, LLC announces the release of RouterConfig DLL version 2.01. This new product allows software developers to automatically identify, map and un-map ports on broadband and home routers in a simple and straight forward fashion.  Version 2.01 now support Japanease interface routers such as the Linksys WRT54G-JP.

Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal is a common problem in computer networking of establishing connections between hosts in private networks which use NAT devices such as firewalls and routers. ZConf, LLC was founded to provide software developers with components and stand alone applications to solve this vexing problem.

“I am excited by the fact that zConf’s products now support Japanease interface routers as well.  We strive to %100 coverage of existing routers and plan to add support for other languages,” said Nomik Eden, zConf’s President. “The product supports almost all of the commonly used routers, including those from Linksys, D-link, Netgear, Belkin, Buffalo, SMC, and others,” he continued.

The RouterConfig components can also be used to automatically reconfigure the router when the machine hosting an IP application receives a new IP address, closing old ports and opening new ones.

By automating the reconfiguration of routers to support applications behind routers and firewalls, zConf’s products can provide a secure environment for end-users, while reducing support costs and returns for software developers. Since the RouterConfig DLL can automatically locate, identify, and reconfigure the router it eliminates an installation problem that is often insurmountable for unsophisticated users. The software components are reasonably priced, so that software developers can save far more than the cost of the components, through reducing the number of support calls.

Version 2.01 adds the ability to save log files of the RouterConfig DLL actions, and support for 18 additional routers.

All versions of the RouterConfig DLL are licensed with post sale technical support and updates. Programming services are also available for developers who want zConf to integrate the RouterConfig DLL into existing programs.

Product information, API documentation, a list of supported routers, and a free demonstration application can be obtained from zConf’s web site: http://www.zconf.com.
