Taylor Lautner Beats Robert Pattinson in Teen Writing Contest 4 to 1
Since launching the 2010 Watty Awards, Wattpad's annual writing contest, thousands of writers have submitted entries, casting their favorite celebrities to play original characters. Taylor Lautner is by far the most popular actor from the Twilight series to appear in the awards, followed by Dakota Fanning. Unlike traditional fan fiction, the authors have created stories that are completely their own and used the Twilight actors to play their fictional roles.

Since the launch of The Watty Awards three weeks ago during the MTV Movie Awards, thousands of authors have submitted their original stories into Wattpad’s annual writing contest.
The majority of contributors are young women who have cast their characters with some of the biggest names in movies and television. Most popular are the stars of Twilight, who writers choose to play fictional characters ranging from the average high school student to the supernatural and highly imaginative.
“Taylor Lautner is by far the most popular actor from the Twilight series to appear in Wattpad fiction, coming second overall only to the young Disney star Selena Gomez,” explains Allen Lau, CEO and co-founder of Wattpad. “Unlike traditional fan fiction, the authors have created stories that are completely their own and used the Twilight actors to play their original roles. Many of the young authors on the site have expressed a desire to become authors as popular as Stephanie Meyer. The winner of last year’s contest, “Dinner With a Vampire. Did I Mention I’m Vegetarian?” by Abigail Gibbs, has over 6 million reads and has received 35,000 comments.
