MLS Receives R&D Funding for Wind Turbine Pitch Systems
MLS Intelligent Control Dynamics leading supplier of control solutions for wind turbines to receive funding for pitch system research and development.
Madrid, Spain, July 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MLS Intelligent Control Dynamics, leading supplier of control solutions for wind turbines, announced today that the company has received financing from Spain’s “Center for Industrial Technology Development,” CDTI to support strategic initiatives for international promotion and continued product innovation of wind turbine control solutions.
CDTI financing is focused on the continued development of two new MLS wind turbine pitch system technologies - the “Intelligent Actuator” for individual pitch control, and the “PX” Pitch system, an active pitch control system being developed to obtain the ideal angle of flow on the rotor blades to ensure maximum power output and fatigue reduction on wind turbines.
MLS develops innovative control strategies aimed at reducing structural loads using collective and individual pitch control. PX Pitch Systems and the Intelligent Actuator incorporate precise control algorithms designed to reduce stress on wind turbines caused by irregular wind patterns.
CDTI and the “Technology Fund” (European Union FEDER funds designed to promote corporate R&D in Spain) will finance the wind turbine pitch projects using favorable term loans for up to almost a half million Euros.
MLS’ financing bid was promoted by specialty consultant GAC España. They are widely regarded for securing funding and R&D management support for technology companies.
