GreaterGood Network Names Partners In Health New Beneficiary of the Child Health Site
Seattle, WA, July 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In celebration of The Child Health Site’s sixth anniversary in July, GreaterGood Network named Partners In Health a new beneficiary of the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" blue button. Since 2002, more than 100 million visitors have clicked on the button to provide free health services to more than 2.1 million children around the world.
Partners In Health will use these donations to fund Vitamin A supplements for the prevention of childhood blindness and other diseases and oral rehydration packets to help treat diarrheal diseases in children. Zanmi Lasante, PIH’s sister organization in Haiti, currently includes these services as part of the comprehensive primary medical care provided in their twelve public health clinics and hospitals across the Central Plateau and Artibonite Department. Following the January earthquakes in Haiti, PIH/ZL also began operating medical clinics in four IDP settlement camps in Port-au-Prince, which have already logged over 100,000 patient visits, many of them children.
“The GreaterGood Network’s increased support for our child health programs is incredible,” said PIH’s Director of Development Suzanne Battit. “We are grateful to have partners like GreaterGood, who understand the need for comprehensive medical care and social services—and The Child Health Site is a tremendous way to bring these issues to a larger audience.”
Earlier in 2010, GreaterGood.org gave more than $270,000 to Partners in Health to support that PIH’s current rescue work in Haiti following the earthquake. Other GreaterGood Network’s Gifts That Give More™ that benefit Partners In Health include support of the super nutrition program for infants, pre-natal care for mothers, mobile health clinics in Haiti, clean water projects, Internet access for rural health clinics, bednets to prevent the spread of malaria in Africa and Haiti, aid for TB and HIV patients in Africa, and PIH’s Right to Health Care program.
