Three Thieves Thwarted by Sonitrol Pacific Audio Security

Granite Falls, WA, July 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Security audio of “three solid thunks” and voices led a Sonitrol Pacific operator to dispatch sheriff’s deputies, allowing them to arrest three would-be copper thieves July 3.

Operator Jessica Culver received the impact-activated audio sensor alert from Snohomish County Sandhill gravel pit before 9:30 p.m. and heard banging noises, scrapes, clanks and at least two voices. Culver dispatched Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies and continued to monitor what was happening at the site.

Just before deputies arrived, Culver heard the voices begin to sound more distant. However, officers caught one person immediately upon their arrival and used a police dog to track down two more suspects.

According to deputies, the trio was taking copper from the metal crusher.

In 2010, more than 106 suspected burglars, vandals and trespassers have been caught by police after Sonitrol Pacific alerted officials to crimes in progress. Since 1978, more than 5,300 criminals have been caught.
