London, United Kingdom, July 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Portrait & Studio course is a success.
This weekend saw the launch of Red Cloud’s brand new Portrait and Studio photography course. The course took place at their converted Lace Mill studio in Beeston, Nottingham, headed by professional photographer and tutor, Simon Bolton.
The one day course kicked off by familiarising participants with a wide range of studio equipment and how to use it to its full effect. They got the chance to photograph a live model, which enabled them to get a wide range of experience and photographs for their potential portfolio.
The day covered how to set up and use studio equipment, including time spent learning how to shoot straight to a laptop using Capture One software. Lighting was essential and participants were shown how to meter correctly and how to use lighting for a variety of creative purposes.
The model for the day, Liz Booth, was exceptionally skilled in front of the camera. Meaning the participants experienced a wide range of poses and went away with a strong set of images, after learning various skills and methods of how to position subjects for the camera and how to deal with props.
Participants said the course benefited from “Lots of hands on experience and small delegate numbers.” The next portrait and studio course takes place in Nottingham on Saturday September 11th 2010.
