$14,000.00 Painting by Southern Artist Maggie Hasbrouck is Up for Grabs

Hasbrouck is offering up her painting “Joy Spills Over” to the first person who cracks the code in her newly released book “TREASURE Twenty One Paintings and a Key.”
Atlanta, GA, July 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Maggie Hasbrouck's evocative paintings of children have been a mainstay of the Southern art scene for over a decade. Her beautiful, often haunting, photo encaustic paintings are created with beeswax, resins, oil and dry pigment over a photographic ground. Finished with layers of multiple varnish her paintings have a depth that almost glows.
The prize for cracking the code in her book is the 48”tall 36” wide photoencaustic painting “Joy Spills Over”, valued at $14,000.00. The painting is hanging at the Bill Lowe Gallery in Atlanta GA in a locked frame. A combination of nine numbers will open the lock and the first person to find those nine numbers in her book will lay claim to the painting.
According to Hasbrouck the numbers are revealed 3 times, in 3 different ways in the book. There are three crucial clues given in the book a well as some distractions. In the process of deciphering the clues a single seven letter word is revealed. You must know the word in order to try to open the lock. All guesses are sent to an email address, maggiehasbroucktreasure@att.net, in order to break any ties.
“TREASURE Twenty One Paintings and a Key” is available at Lulu.com for $22.50 or 11.50 for an ebook. Hasbrouck is donating 40% of her profits to the American Institute for Cancer Research. Two years ago Hasbrouck lost a close friend to Brain cancer. She chose AICR because of their emphasis on nutrition and prevention.
