CERTPOINT Systems™, a leading international provider of integrated enterprise learning solutions, today announced the appointment of Denis Finnegan as the company’s Chief Learning Officer. Denis will oversee the effective implementation of CERTPOINT Systems’ learning platform across its client base.
Denis joins CERTPOINT following 14 years at The Hartford Financial Services Group, where he most recently managed the learning of the company’s employees throughout the US, and was previously Assistant VP of Corporate Education. At The Hartford, Denis was responsible for introducing a range of learning technologies, including video conferencing, web-based events and e-learning. He was also responsible for all aspects of general business training and leadership training.
Denis is an Adjunct Professor for the University of Connecticut graduate school, where he has developed and delivers courses, including graduate courses. He also teaches for Southern Illinois University in their Workforce Education program. “Denis brings a wealth of practical experience in the application of learning technologies in the workplace, backed up with solid academic credentials,” says Ara Ohanian, CERTPOINT Systems CEO.
Previously, Denis was a Naval Officer in the USN, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. His career included 12 years at the Naval Submarine School, culminating as the director of distance learning for the submarine force. He has a BS in vocational education from Southern Illinois University, an MA from the University of Connecticut, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
